Making your Flash search and standards friendly…

Anyone who has done any amount of Flash work has had to contend with the Flash detection, alternate content issue. Usually when I do any Flash work I make good use of the Moock FPI for Flash detection and redirection. The problem is that as we (the web development community as a whole) strive to move towards some type of standard, we need a standards compliant way of embedding Flash content and offering alternative content for the "interactively challenged". Geoff Stearns may have the solution with his FlashObject: Javascript Flash detection and embed script.

Devonair has also posted some Flash publishing templates over at Behind The Curtain that allow you to take advantage of the FlashObject method right from the publishing menu within the Flash IDE.
