OpenAMF and Flex

Darron Schall has posted a nice article about using OpenAMF to connect a Flex client to a Tomcat server. I haven't had the opportunity to try OpenAMF with Flex, but have been very pleased with OpenAMF and Flash, and hope to try the amfPHP version with an upcoming project. I was also very happy to see that Macromedia has not abandoned remoting, signaled by the update to the remoting components for Flash 8. Although no additional functionality was added to the update, it's just comforting to know it hasn't been put on a shelve somewhere to die.

    Take a look at my previous post, Flash Remoting – simplified, I reference an article by Laura over at AS Fusion. That should be exactly what you need.

    In fact they have since posted another article titled “How to transfer data with Flash Remoting“.
