Hi there.
I don't know if this has been spoken about already but im having major problems with CS4 install. I used to have CS2. I deleted it in order to put CS4 on and now, when i click on setup.exe it says

'Critical errors were found in setup - session hes dependencies that
cannot be satisfied
Please see the setup log file for details'

I have found the setup log file but it means nothing to me.
Can any one help. Im about 2 months away from my portfolio deadline for my final year at uni. It could not have come at a worse time.
Please help!lol
Thanks

OH. MY. GOD.

I *&%#$!@*&%*&#(* have no words to describe what I feel for Adobe right now... 15 years of IT work, this is BY FAR the worst experience I've had.... WAY WORSE than the DLL hell back in the NT days of being a developer.

Get your damned act together Adobe. Really not happy.

1stly thank you for this blog, if i wasn't for this I'd be pulling out my hair right now with frustration!

@Fred Fark: dude, your method worked perfectly for me. I ran Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator CS4 on my old crappy laptop(512 ram, 1.6ghz,80gb hd(yes I know...)) and it worked just fine, except it lags with many layers...

CS4 ran perfectly on my previous OS(XP sp3), no installation issues. I've formatted my hard drive and installed Windows 7 ultimate 64bit and have NEVER installed ANY Adobe products before attempting the CS4 master collection installation. I am running Windows 7 64bit, 2gb ram, Intel Core 2 duo 2x2.2ghz, nVidia gt8600 256mb.
