Mike Chabmbers has posted a nice write up on Flash and Web 2.0. There have been numerous posts on every other blog claiming to define exactly Web 2.0 is. Mike (as always) does a great job of listing a number of considerations and why web 2.0 applications will not be limited to any single technology [...]

I find myself more and more lately defending Flash to clients at the expensive of discounting other technologies. With the renewed interest in JavaScript lately and all the hype and “bandwagoning” surrounding “AJAX” it seems like everyone has drank the kool-aid without actually understanding what the hells in the water. Okay so this story has been everywhere but I couldn’t help but put a small post about it myself. Paul Neave has created Flash Earth… which is just bad ass and deserves to be talked about. Although I doubt I could say it any better than JD himself as he sits atop his soapbox…

So everybody has no doubt seen and heard about Flash 8 and the Studio 8 release. I’ve been reading everything I can, trying to get ahead of the game with respect to the learning curve adjustment that comes with any new software release. And since I’m not one of the lucky ones out there to [...]

Anyone who has done any amount of Flash work has had to contend with the Flash detection, alternate content issue. Usually when I do any Flash work I make good use of the Moock FPI for Flash detection and redirection. The problem is that as we (the web development community as a whole) strive to [...]

As an extension to my previous post regarding Escape Shortcut Keys in Flash, below is a way to add/modify your own, along with a nice set graciously provided by atn at SoleilNoir
There’s also a trick to improve the way you use these “quickeys” by editing the ActionsPanel.xml file and personalizing it.
